Project description 
The project’s main components of the Thune Dam and associated works include a 1600 m long, 35 m high embankment; mass concrete overflow spillway; an 11 ml/day capacity water treatment works; some 101 km of water supply pipelines, storage and pump-stations, re-alignment of the existing road and bridge over the Thune river; an access road to the dam; housing for dam operations staff; erection and commissioning of BPC power lines and substations. 

GIBB responsibilities 
Unusually challenging flooding conditions, limited impervious core material, limited suitable concrete aggregate, project management, civil engineering, foundation engineering, dam engineering, tender documentation, procurement, cost estimation and control construction supervision.
