Project description 

Arcus GIBB Nigeria was appointed in 2007 to investigate and report on alternatives for the disposal of sewage within the Greater Port Harcourt area.  This project included conveyance via a new bulk outfall sewer from the new city development to the Ogbogoro Waste Water Works.  The appointment also included the design of approximately 24.5 km of gravity (1 350 mm to twin 1 800 mm diameter HDPE lined concrete pipes) and 8.3 km of pressure mains (1 000 mm to 1 400 mm diameter GRP and Ductile iron pipes) between the new city development and Ogbogoro Waste Water Works and included the design of three pump stations.

  • Deep gravity mains and manholes in excess of 8 m deep
  • Self sustainable pump stations
