Official GIBB Group communication on COVID-19 Nationwide Lockdown & remote working measures
Dear Valued Clients, Partners and Suppliers.
The situation in South Africa around COVID-19 is worsening on a daily basis with increasingly stringent measures being necessitated to contain the rate of infections. Consequently, the President announced a Country-wide lockdown effective from midnight on Thursday 26 March 2020.
The GIBB Group of Companies fully support the lockdown measures as the health and safety of our families, staff, clients, partners and service providers remains utmost priority.
We already communicated last week that some of our employees would be working remotely or working from home. This measure was aimed at primarily protecting those employees identified in the high risk categories. We have since last week been preparing for a potential lockdown and have already put measures in place to implement Remote Working for our office-based workforce.
This means we are able to support our Clients, where it is possible to continue providing our services using Remote Working. Our Project Managers have been tasked to work with you to proactively explore ways in which we can continue to provide our services. However, this means the way we communicate with each other in the coming days will change to only making use of video and teleconferencing facilities.
While all our offices will be closed, our switchboard remains remotely managed. We encourage you to contact our engineers, architects and scientists directly on their cellular phones for a quicker response time.
Our site staff, where applicable, will be demobilised from sites in compliance with the lockdown requirements. Our site staff are directed to cooperate in every respect to ensure that necessary measures are put in place to protect the sites during the lockdown period.
Please feel free to discuss any arrangements or requests that you might have with our dedicated staff.
We extend our well wishes to the nation and the world.
Kind Regards
GIBB Group Management
